The project: Create a data entry guide for animal rescue staff and volunteers

Constraints: Audience included volunteers with little to no experience with tech; required template in Google Docs.

Tech: ShelterLuv database, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Snagit

Does the guide feel screenshot-heavy? Yes, it does! The choice was deliberate. This guide was intended for staff, but also for volunteers, many of whom would be using ShelterLuv and Google Sheets for the first time. And ShelterLuv is not especially intuitive. The guide also needed to serve as training for more tech-experienced users and a reference for all users.

If the guide feels unfinished, that’s because it is. A system upgrade was announced while I was writing this guide. Because the system upgrade would reorganize much of the content included in this guide and completely change the look of the system, this guide was obsolete before it was even finished. I therefore decided to leave it unfinished.
